To be an OFW
is to carry a heavy load – like an ant with a load more than a thousand times
of its body weight carrying uphill. Physical and mental sacrifices. To give the
best to the family left behind.
Nigeria has
been one of the best OFWs’ destinations especially in the Federal Capital
Territory, Abuja. Companies especially the construction companies give good pay
with lots of fringe benefits.
Julius
Berger Nigeria, Plc is the largest construction company in Nigeria and it has
employed many Filipinos on different fields. One of them is Efren Lim, an
expert Database Developer. He was employed and arrived in Abuja on May 30, 2009.
Now, 4 years
later, he captured a job in a Singaporean based company.
Why he’s so
lucky? He will work in the Philippines as an expatriate with the same terms and
conditions as that of JBN. The big boost: being with his wife and the rest of
the family. That’s pure heaven!
Last Sunday
March 3, his ‘adoptive parents’ Mr. and Mrs. Nonits Barraquias hosted a
send-off party for him at JBN mini-clubhouse.
Some of the
pictures are shown below:
